Google Drive - Limit space used?

Is there a way to limit the space used in Google Drive? It has filled my drive and I can’t now upload anything else there.

Hi,
It was quite a long time since I used Google Drive, but doesn´t it follow the Library settings under the Settings?

I’ve been wondering if manually syncing the relevant folder with Google Photos would be a better option. It allegedly has no capacity limit as long as video files are 1080 or less.
I’m sure that it’s not their intent to become the cloud backup for security systems, but it seems to be an option, in theory.
