New camera from China

Thank you very muck and good luck!
-Henrik

Morning,

I have a similar problem with a new IP cam: It is a Smart Camera V380, Model: IS-CWC10,
Specs: HD720p/25fps, 11b/g/n wifo, Micro SD/SDHC/SDXC.
Site: http://www.av380.cn/netural.php

I canā€™t seem to connect with it except with the App supplied (Google app, and IStore as ā€œV380ā€), and a PC program called mvcms_lite. It connects on port 5050, which I believe is MMCC protocol.

How do I connect, or does it need to be added? I thank you in advance,
Chris

Hi Chris!
Well, another Chinese cam ā€¦ What is wrong with all the cams that NCS already support ;).
To connect a cam to NCS you need an URL with communication parameters like logins, ip-number, port number, protocol etc.
The link you have is for me a blank page. However, some searching gives that, if this is the same cameras, it support h.264 compression, is uses rtsp and somewhere I also saw that it supports the onvif standard.
So, the easiest way is to check if you can add the cameras as an ONVIF source. You need to connect the cam to your LAN and you also need username and password. If it follows ONVIF you should see it the search.

If you do not find it there then you can add it by the Custom URL. Since it supports h.264 and rtsp I would set Stream Type to rtsp_tcp. The tricky part is the URL. Since these cams usually follow standard the port for rtsp is 554. So the URL should look like:
rtsp://username:password@ip-number:554/xxxxxxxxxx
The question is what xxxxx is and that is the million dollar question. I have no idea and the Internet gives me no hints. You can try:
rtsp://username:password@ip-number:554/
sometimes it is that simple.

A long shot is that many of the Chinese cams use the same chip manufacturer so try the same URL as above:
rtsp: // username: password@ip-number/user=admin&password=password & channel = 1 & stream = 0.sdp?
Remove all the spaces!
Or try some of the other URLĀ“s above.
Also, enter the confuguration of the camera. Somtimes you can find the connection informstion there.
You need to do some testing here ;).
This will not give you the PTZ function. That will need a lot more investigation.

Good luck and please report back to help others in the forum!

Hi Hendrik,
Thank you for the quick response. Unfortunately none of the suggestions above helped. Cheap camera is now costing more in timeā€¦

A few things:

I tried these (excl spaces):
rtsp: // admin:temppw @ 192.168.1.131/ user = admin & password = temppw & channel = 1 & stream = 0.sdp? and
rtsp: // admin:temppw @ 192.168.1.131/ channel = 1 & stream = 0.sdp? and
rtsp: // 192.168.1.131 / user = admin & password = temppw & channel = 1 & stream = 0.sdp? and
rtsp:// 192.168.1.131 : temppw @ 192.168.1.131 :554 / 31063991 (camera S/N that I can use in mvcms_lite )

When using wireshark and Mvcms_lite, I can clearly see the connection packet, with ā€˜adminā€™ and ā€˜temppwā€™ being the only text, almost all other text is 0 (probably header and size fields - data length is 128):

0000 01 91 00 00 01 00 00 00 61 64 6d 69 6e 00 00 00 ........admin...
0010 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ................
0020 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ................
0030 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 74 65 6d 70 ............temp
0040 70 77 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 pw..............
0050 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ................
0060 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ................
0070 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ................

2 more mmcc packets follow (starting with 02 91, then 05 91. I can also see x264 in text). After this a bunch of ita-agent packets are sent (Seems to be the video data as there is a definite pattern).

I donā€™t know if any of this helps, but I thought I would mention it, as it might suggest the communication standard being used.

Thank you again for all the effort - it is appreciated!
Chris

HI!
That is another cam than I saw first. However, found this after some searching

http://xiaoyi.querex.be/

Main streamļ¼šrtsp://192.168.1.128:554/ch0_0.h264
Minor streamļ¼šrtsp://192.168.1.128:554/ch0_1.h264
Audio streamļ¼šrtsp://192.168.1.128:554/ch0_3.h264

Change IP and add username and password before IP and check. Also change port number to 5050 since they may use that instead of 554.

Hi Hendrik,

Unfortunately none of those worked either :frowning:

I have not tried to change the firmware. As my camera has Infra-red control as well, it does not seem to be compatible with those in the link.

Will let you know if I find some more info.

Chris

Chris,
Some suggestion for Chinese cams ;). Go for the rtsp and set stream type to rtsp_tcp.

Chris, I bought the same camera; have you figured out whatā€™s the IP address of the video/audio/PTZ source?

Sorry, I have not seen any solution. I hope @jcsmook can help.
-Henrik

My friend also purchased this camera. Iā€™ve checked it and found that it is using OnVif and its url is
rtsp://192.168.2.150//live/ch00_1

change IP address according to yours. i.e.
rtsp://IPAddress//live/ch00_1

same as mine
itā€™s using app V380 on android
problem is the url works for video only, the audio is missing
do you know how to get the audio stream?

Most likely the rtsp stream includes audio. I cannot find if the cam for audio use AAC, g711, g726, ā€¦Chech what the app csn handle. Use ncs or aother software and test. Easy to connect since the cam support onvif.

Iā€™ve tried some software like netcam, ispy
I get the video but canā€™t get the audio
my goal is using ffmpeg command line to record the video & audio stream using openwrt router
really need help to discover the audio stream

Usually, these cameras comes with a software. Have you tested that software? Also, check that the audio is enabled in the camera config.

BUY THE SAME CAMERA. GIVE THE SAME LINK
Rtsp: //192.168.1.7/live/ch00_0
Rtsp: //192.168.1.7/live/ch00_1
ONLY VIDEO.
SOME DISCOVER A HTTP URL ???

Most likely this camera use a separate channel for the audio even though it says rtsp/h264. Or it use some odd codec for the audio.

can anyone provide what settings should be used to have the stream visible in Synology Camera monitoring?
