It would be nice to have an option to save the camera settings/general settings to a separate location outside of the install folder. The option could be placed in the Settings section, and you can choose where you want your settings backed up to.
The reason this is necessary is because there is currently a bug where the settings will be wiped during an upgrade. Also, this would be useful if the security server dies unexpectedly. This would be a useful feature whether there is an Upgrade bug or not.
The cameras settings (with all other settings) are saved outside in ProgramData. Most of the upgrades we try to make this compatible (but we know that several users lost them when upgrading to 1.1.x due to breaking changes in plugins settings).
I understand, and I think the software is great and you guys are doing a great job. Iām just making a suggestion to save the settings to a destination outside the program folder for backup. If there was then an option to load settings, that would be awesome too. But, all in due time. Thanks again!
