Recovering time lapse after cold reboot?

I noticed if my computer has to restart or loses power, I lose the time lapse video for that day (in fact, I use the scheduler to stop and restart the time lapse every morning so it can save/encode yesterday’s file, but that leaves a 30min gap between recordings). I know it wants to encode using ffmpeg after it finishes recording a long video (I notice this in task manager) but is there a way to have it automatically run this on next startup, or even manually? Or is the most recent recording stored in ram and thus gone forever?

If you have an open file and the computer just reboot information is lost. File is not closed correctly. The software cannot pic that info up again. Probably other programs can do that. If this is a common problem I suggest you decrease time between new files.
