Just wondering if there is a rule of thumb for how long you can record with differing size hard drives. i.e. 1TB can record 24 hours, 2TB can record 48 hours? Just wondering what size I would need?

That depends on many parameters you set in the configuration of recordings and camera resulution. I suggest that you configure recordings so that you are satisfied with the result. Then you have the file size for a certain time and then it’s just to do some calculations.
