Should I be using motion detection on the camera or the software? I am trying to configure the system to be the most efficient on bandwidth and processor usage.
It depends what you are trying to achieve. Both have advantages and disadvantages.
The main reason to use the camera’s one is that you don’t need any software or computer running but by doing so you won’t have the remote library management and video archiving like you can have by using NCS for detection and storage.
