NCS Server stopped starting - Windows Update is playing some tricks on Netcam Studio

I’ve been running NCS very happily for about 3 months but about 4 days ago the server stopped. Launching the server again and I get the ‘do you want to make changes’ dialogue then nothing - the usual console window doesnt start. no logs or messages and no processes started - Have tried system roboot and ‘repairing’ via the installer - still the same.
Is the a debug log anywhere I can check?

It’s the time for windows updates and sometimes that can play some tricks on NCS. Sometimes the following is enough:
-uninstall the latest Windows update. Make sure NCS runs. Install the update again.
OR
-go to C:\Users%username%\AppData\Local\Moonware and delete all.
-go to C:\Users%username%\AppData\Roaming\Moonware and delete all.
If that do not help do a clean installation of NCS as How to make a clean installation of Netcam Studio
